
Rev. Johnny Gamble
Our Pastor and Founder
Pastor Johnny Gamble was born in Manning, South Carolina (one of thirteen children) born to the late Junious Gamble and the late Beatrice Samuel Gamble. His conversion came at the age of thirteen at Friendship Presbyterian Church of Manning, South Carolina. Rev. Gamble’s baptism, divine calling to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and ordination has all taken place at the First Baptist Church of Stratford, under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. William O. Johnson.Pastor Gamble’s educational background is an Associate in Science Degree from Housatonic Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Nyack College in Nyack, New York and in May 2011, Pastor Gamble completed his Master’s at Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, New York. He will begin working toward his PhD in September at Alliance Theological Seminary.
Pastor Gamble served four years in the United States Air Force and moved to Connecticut and began working with United Parcel Service and after thirty years of service, he retired.


Pastor Gamble loves to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After being divinely led, on May 9, 1999, Rev. Gamble started a ministry that is now known as the Friendship Baptist Church of Stratford, since that time, the Lord has blessed Friendship Baptist Church with over two hundred and fifty disciples.
Pastor Gamble is very active in the Town of Stratford, where he serves as a member of the Citizen Addressing Racial Equality Group, Subcommittee for the board of education, member of the Stratford Clergy, and he also serve on the Juvenile Referral Board in Stratford.
Pastor Gamble is also member of the I. M. A (Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance) of Greater Bridgeport and vicinity. He is married to First Lady Barbara J. Gamble and is the father of five and Grandfather of thirteen.
