Rev. Gross was born and educated in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He
graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B. A. and the
University of Connecticut School of Law with his law degree, three
years later. Subsequently he received his Masters of Divinity from
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Long active in the Bridgeport community, he served as chairman of
Bridgeport Housing Authority and Bridgeport Housing Site Agency and
then later was elected as treasurer for the City of Bridgeport.
Rev. Gross served on the boards of the Museum of Arts, Science, and
Industry; Advisory Board of the University of Bridgeport; President
of the Israeli Scholarship committee of the University of
Bridgeport; and the executive board of the local Boy Scouts of
America Council.
Rev. Gross served at Hosanah Ministries, a Christian drug outreach;
as an elder, teacher, and preacher for over ten years and practiced
law in the City of Bridgeport for over forty years.
He currently serves as a hearing officer for the Town of Oxford and
as an arbitrator and fact finder for the judicial branch of the
State of Connecticut.
He was ordained in the Southern Baptist Convention through Naugatuck
Valley Community Church in 1992.
He is a member of the Missionaries and serves as an Associate
Minister of Friendship Baptist Church of Stratford. He is married to
the former Judith Schefkind and they have two children and six
grandchildren.
